Technical issues due to the change of reference year from 2005=100 to 2010=100 at the end of March 2013 led to some breaks in the data series of four classes of products (CPA 14.12, 25.61, 25.71 and 35.14), which were corrected on the 7^th May 2013.

New series for agricultural price indices - rebased to 2010 - are now available in the BDM:

• Agricultural means of production purchasing price index / IPAMPA, rebased to 2010, here;
• Agricultural producer price index (IPPAP), rebased to 2010, here.

The old series 2005 = 100 are defined as stopped series, but still available at the same location, i.e. respectively:

• here concerning the agricultural means of production purchasing price index;

In the Bulletin Statistique (click here), the series 2005 = 100 have been replaced by the new series 2010 = 100.

The following series have been changed since July 2012. The late answer of a company badly integrated in the calculation explains this revision:

New series for turnover indices - rebased to 2010 - are now available in the BDM:

By now, the series on enterprise bankruptcies, provided by the Observatoire des entreprises de la Banque de France (BdF), are available here in the BDM.

Theses statistics are the result of information collected directly from the registries of commercial courts matched with BODACC.

The data disseminated by the Insee until 4^th January 2012 are based on the advertisement required by law in the BODACC (Bulletin des annonces civiles et commerciales - Civil and Trade Notices Bulletin). These series are defined as stopped series, but still available at the same location.

In the Bulletin statistique (click here), the series on enterprise bankruptcies have been replaced by these provided by the Banque de France.

New series for branch survey of industrial production - rebased to 2010 - are now available in the BDM, click here.

In a few cases, some fine series of monthly branch surveys, base 2005, have been aggregated or separated in base 2010 or have their scope changed.

New series for short-term indices - rebased to 2010 - will soon be available in the BDM, and publication spread between March and June 2013.

This rebasing concerns:

• Industrial production index / IPI (G950, G951, G952, G953, G954, G955, G956, G957, G958, G959, G960, G961, G962, G963, G996) in March 2013;
• Monthly branch surveys in mining and manufacturing (G1078, G1079);
• Turnover index for industry, construction, commerce and services (G1009, G1010, G1011, G1012, G1013, G1296, G1297, G1298, G1299, G1300, G1301, G1302, G1303, G1304) in early April 2013;
• Turnover index EMAGSA (from the monthly survey on the activity of food supermarkets: G1335) in early April 2013;
• Agricultural means of production purchasing price index / IPAMPA (G1124) end of May 2013;
• Wholesale food price index / WFPI (G1328) end of May 2013;
• Index of industrial production and import prices / PPI (agriculture, end of May 2013: G1123 - industry, end of March 2013: G966, G967, G969, G970, G971, G972, G973, G974, G975, G976, G977, G978, G980 - services, end of May 2013: G1099);
• Foreign trade indices (indices of volume and unit value: G1330, G1331, G1332) in June 2013;
• International euro indices of raw materials (G1329).

In the BDM, the old series 2005 = 100 will be stopped, but still available at the same location. In the Bulletin Statistique, the present series 2005 = 100 will be replaced by the new series 2010 = 100.

In most cases, the old series 2005 = 100 will be recalculated base 2010 with the same perimeter.

In a few cases, some fine series of monthly branch surveys, base 2005, will be aggregated or separated in base 2010 or have their scope changed.

The loading of Friday 30^th of November 2012 has modified by mistake the confidentiality status of numerous series into "statistical secret" between July 2010 and June 2012. The new loading of Monday 3^rd of December 2012 has corrected this situation. The values of the series from July 2010 to June 2012 have not changed since 31^st of October 2012, neither have the values of the series from July 2012 to October 2012 between the 30^th of November and the 3^rd of December 2012.

Data in the BDM time series n° 001586057 "Economic outlook survey in industry in NAF rev. 2: Manufacturing - Turning-point indicator (seasonally-adjusted)" have been modified due to an error ranging from April 1976 to October 2012.

The correcting update was published on November 13^th at noon time.

In August 2012, the Turnover value index - Other passenger land transport (NAF rev. 2, lev. Group, it. 49.3) - SA-WDA data - Base 100 in 2005 (Idbank n° 001566508) stood at 113.2 instead of 100.3 as published in BDM on October 30^th between 12 pm and 6 pm. The corresponding raw series have been modified too.

In August 2012, the Turnover value index - Transportation and storage (NAF rev. 2, lev. Section, it. H) - SA-WDA data - Base 100 in 2005 (Idbank n° 001566500) stood at 123.0 instead of 121.6 as published in BDM on October 30^th between 12 pm and 6 pm. The corresponding raw series have been modified too.

• Turnover indices (base 2005, NAF rev. 2) - Transport and storage

In the first quarter of 2012, the commercial rent index stood at 107.01 (instead of 107.16 as published in the Informations Rapides on July 6^th, 2012).

• Commercial rent index (base 100 on the 1st quarter of 2008)

The series of prices for iron ore has been amended to reflect the change in market structure.

The backward projection of previous years of prices indexes of commodities, especially raw food materials, has changed.

These three series are in reference 100 = first quarter 2010.

• Business services production price indices

La forte révision des séries liées aux locomotives et autre matériel ferroviaire roulant est due à une rectification tardive d'un fournisseur, concernant toute la série temporelle sur plus d'un an. Le cas des autres séries liées aux étoffes à maille est imputable à une correction technique. Les deux groupes de séries donnent lieu à révision depuis juillet 2010.

It has become impossible to question twice the same firms, both on their purchaser's prices at imports and on their seller's prices of imported products, which let believe that we attempt to measure implicitly trade margins. The "price indices of resale on the French market of imported industrial products" are therefore stopped since 30th of March, 2012, and followed by "import price indices of industrial products" for the possible use of contract escalation.

Consequently, the list of "total supply of industrial products price indices" has been markedly shortened, and following series are proposed among "producer price indices of French industry for the French market" and "import price indices of industrial products".

In order to facilitate the building by the internet user of composite prices "producer price indices of French industry for the French market" + "import price indices of industrial products" for a given product, in the spirit of "total supply of industrial products price indices", a table of weightings has been added to the documentation on these series, which allows also the user to compile aggregated indices of his choice.

In the delivery of 27th of February, 2012, of "producer price indices of French industry on the French market at purchaser's prices for contract escalation", some values have been wrongly modified between May and September 2011 included. This update of 9th of March, 2012, restores the values of the delivery of 31st of January, 2012, on this period.

On the other hand, an isolated mistake has been committed on the "total supply of industrial products price indices" for item "29.10 - motor vehicles" and the period from May, 2011 to January, 2012, which has led us to modify exceptionally these indices on this past period, on the occasion of this update of 9th of March, 2012.

Since February 24, 2012, the annual national accounts released by INSEE are published on base 2005, instead of base 2000.

The transition of the national accounts to base 2005 was needed, due to:

• the switch to the French classification of economic activities, NAF Rev. 2;
• the introduction of the new production on structural business statistics, ESANE (Annual Business Statistics Program).

This change of bases comes with numerous improvements, described in the methodology sheets provided on base 2005.

• Direct access to annual national accounts on base 2005

Since January 2, 2012, INSEE no longer directly disseminates data on new passenger cars registrations (G442).

It is now the Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development, Transportation and Housing through its statistical office SOeS that takes care of this.

Small discrepancies between the method of seasonal adjustment and revision due to new passenger cars purchased by civilian or military services of the state, which no longer exist in the new series, may explain the differences between the two series.

The series of tertiary activities rent index (reference 100 in Q1 2010) are availlable in the BDM.

These series will be disseminate quarterly at the same time as cost of construction index and commercial rent index.

Since December 13, 2011, the series of EMAGSA turnover indices are available in the BDM.

A late answer to the French PPI survey, including a new product with a quality change badly taken into account in our statistical treatments, has led to an inappropriate revision of the producer price index of "installation services of industrial machinery and equipments" (product 33.20) on the French market in July, 2011, with an impact of 0,6% on the level of the whole industry since this time. This mistake had not been discovered in time for the delivery of 30th of November at 8:45. a.m. It has then been treated and solved in this new delivery of 30th of November at 12:55 a.m.

Since November 24, 2011 the new series of price index of old dwellings on base 100 in 1st quarter 2010 are available in the BDM.

The previous series on base 100 in 4th quarter 2000 are stopped, but still available in the database.

Since November 3, 2011 the new series on base 2005 and CPA 2008 of Foreign trade indices are available in the database.

The previous series on base 1995 and CPA 1993 are stopped, but still available in the database.

Methodology to calculate evolutions of food wholesale price indices (IPGA) has been revised since July 8, 2011. The processing of missing values has been improved and the reference year is now 2005.

IPGA indices have therefore been revised since 2000.

The previous series are stopped, but still available in the database.

• Direct access to food wholesale price indices (IPGA)

International euro indices of raw materials (G1308), presently on 2000 base will be rebased on 2005 on July 29, 2011 (G1329).

At that point, some computations will be done. Present series will be stopped and newer corresponding series will be purposed with link ratios.

Due to a late answer of an influent firm reinforced by a keyboarding mistake, Insee has decided exceptionally to correct past indices of industrial limestones below the usual period, i.e. from January to November 2010. The correction of this time-series has impacted few aggregated levels, within the "other mining and quarrying products" (division 08 of CPA 2008).

The series of turnover indices on base 1990 are available in the BDM (stopped series) since June 16, 2011.

These series include:

• Turnover indices in industry and construction, in NES 16 and NES 36 of summary economic classifications plus NAF 3 of French Classification of Economic Activities;
• Turnover indices in commerce and services, in NAF 4 of French Classification of Economic Activities and Special groups.

All metadata associated with the series previously offered by Indices Pro are now in the BDM.

The help section dedicated to Indices Pro users has also been complemented with information on series proposed as replacements for the Advisory Committee for Material Price Indices (COCIM) and the Miscellaneous Products and Services (PSD) indices.

The series of monthly household consumption of goods (base 2005) in volume by main groups of products have been added to the BDM on May 31, 2011.

The previous series on base 2000 are stopped but still available in the database.

The series of monthly consumer price indices (CPI) on base 1970 and base 1980 are available in the BDM (stopped series), since May 18, 2011.

The monthly consumer price indices are calculated for urban households, in metropolitan France, headed by an employee or a labourer (base 100 in 1970 for "base 1970" and base 100 in 1980 for "base 1980").

These series include:

• Monthly consumer price indices for goods and services in the Paris conurbation (base 1980);
• Monthly consumer price indices for food products (bases 1970 and 1980);
• Monthly consumer price indices for manufactured products (bases 1970 and 1980);
• Monthly consumer price indices for services (bases 1970 and 1980);
• Monthly consumer price indices for aggregate specific groups (base 1980);
• Monthly consumer price indices for specific groups of food products (base 1980);
• Monthly consumer price indices for specific groups of manufactured products (base 1980);
• Monthly consumer price indices for specific groups of services (base 1980).

Since May 13, 2011 at 7:30 am, the new series on base 2005 and NAF rev. 2 of the quarterly national accounts are available in the BDM.

The previous series on base 2000 and NAF rev. 1 are stopped but still available in the database.

Series on regional GDP (gross domestic product) and regional value added have been available in the BDM since April 7, 2011.

These series include:

• Regional GDP (base 2000) distributed by region and type of GDP;

Series on monthly consumer price indices (CPI) in base 1990 have been available in the BDM since April 6, 2011 (stopped series).

These series include:

• Monthly consumer price index for whole households : classification by consumption function, with annual weighting and average;
• Monthly consumer price index for whole households : classification by products in NAP 1973, with annual weighting and average;
• Monthly consumer price index for whole households : classification in various combinations, with annual weighting and average;
• Monthly consumer price index for whole "urban" households headed by an employee or a labourer and "Parisian" households (living in the Paris area) : by type of products, with annual weighting and average;
• Monthly average prices of retail in French franc by type of products, in metropolitan France, with annual average.

The Indices Pro web site has been definitely closed since March 31, 2011.

All series previously offered by Indices Pro are now in the BDM database.

Metadata for these series will be developed soon.

The BDM's interface has been completely revised and is now in accordance with the insee.fr graphics standards.

This new version offers:

• a simplified navigation,
• a faster access to over 150,000 series and indices,
• better built and more complete download files,
• immediate access to series metadata,
• a direct link from the "Informations Rapides" to their corresponding series,
• an easier access to data through search engines.
